7 U.S.C. § 2262 — Employee liability insurance on motor vehicles in foreign countries

This section authorizes the Secretary of Agriculture to insure employees against liability for certain damage, injury, or death caused while they perform official duties and drive a United States vehicle abroad.
The Secretary of Agriculture may obtain insurance covering an Agriculture Department employee’s liability for property damage or loss, personal injury, or death caused by the employee’s act or failure to act while acting within official duties and operating a United States motor vehicle in a foreign country.
The Secretary of Agriculture is authorized to obtain insurance to cover the liability of any employee of the Department of Agriculture for damage to or loss of property or personal injury or death caused by the act or omission of any such employee while acting within the scope of his office or employment and while operating a motor vehicle belonging to the United States in a foreign country.
