7 U.S.C. § 249 — Transfer of stored agricultural products

A warehouse operator may move a stored farm product to another warehouse for continued storage. This must follow the regulations for warehouses under this law. The operator must still deliver it to its owner if asked at the original warehouse.
(a) In general: Following the regulations issued under this chapter, a warehouse operator* may transfer a stored agricultural product* from one warehouse* to another so it can keep being stored there.
(b) Continued duty: Even after transferring the product, the original warehouse operator must still deliver it to its rightful owner if the owner asks, at the original warehouse. The operator must deliver the same quantity, kind, quality, and grade of product listed on the owner's receipt* or other evidence of storage.
In accordance with regulations promulgated under this chapter, a warehouse operator* may transfer a stored agricultural product* from one warehouse* to another warehouse for continued storage.
The warehouse operator from which agricultural products have been transferred under subsection (a) shall deliver to the rightful owner of such products, on request at the original warehouse, such products in the quantity and of the kind, quality, and grade called for by the receipt* or other evidence of storage of the owner.
