This section lists the Foreign Agricultural Service’s duties.
The Foreign Agricultural Service* must help the Secretary* carry out United States* agricultural-trade and international-cooperation policies by (1) gathering agricultural-trade information, (2) conducting market-promotion and development activities, (3) providing agricultural technical assistance and training, and (4) carrying out programs under this chapter, the Food for Peace Act, and other Acts.
The Service* shall assist the Secretary* in carrying out the agricultural trade policy and international cooperation policy of the United States* by—
acquiring information pertaining to agricultural trade;
carrying out market promotion and development activities;
providing agricultural technical assistance and training; and
carrying out the programs authorized under this chapter, the Food for Peace Act (7 U.S.C. 1691 et seq.), and other Acts.
