7 U.S.C. § 9093 — Prevention of deceased individuals receiving payments under farm commodity programs

The section requires twice-yearly checks to prevent payments to deceased people who were not eligible.
(a) At least twice a year, the Secretary must compare the Social Security numbers of everyone receiving payments under this chapter, directly or indirectly, with Social Security Commissioner records to see whether they are alive. (b) The Secretary must stop payments to or for deceased people who were not eligible.
At least twice each year, the Secretary shall reconcile Social Security numbers of all individuals who receive payments under this chapter, whether directly or indirectly, with the Commissioner of Social Security to determine if the individuals are alive.
The Secretary shall preclude the issuance of payments to, and on behalf of, deceased individuals that were not eligible for payments.
