No later than 180 days after May 14, 2002, the Attorney General must ensure that certain newly admitted or granted-asylum aliens receive employment authorization documents immediately. Each document must include at least the alien’s fingerprint and photograph.
No later than 180 days after May 14, 2002, the Attorney General must ensure that an individual admitted under section 1157 of this title receives an employment authorization document immediately upon arriving in the United States. The same must happen immediately when an alien* is granted asylum under section 1158 of this title. At a minimum, the document must contain the alien’s fingerprint and photograph.
Not later than 180 days after May 14, 2002, the Attorney General shall ensure that, immediately upon the arrival in the United States of an individual admitted under section 1157 of this title, or immediately upon an alien* being granted asylum under section 1158 of this title, the alien will be issued an employment authorization document. Such document shall, at a minimum, contain the fingerprint and photograph of such alien.
