10 U.S.C. § 12521 — Definitions

In this chapter: (1) "Insurance program" means the Ready Reserve Mobilization Income Insurance Program set up under section 12522. (2) "Covered service" means active duty of more than 30 days that a reserve member is ordered to serve, where the order says the service either (A) supports an operational mission for which reserve members were ordered to duty without their consent, or (B) supports forces activated during a war Congress declared, or a national emergency declared by the President or Congress. (3) "Insured member" means a Ready Reserve member enrolled for coverage under the insurance program under section 12524. (4) "Secretary" means the Secretary of Defense. (5) "Department" means the Department of Defense. (6) "Board of Actuaries" means the Department of Defense Board of Actuaries under section 183. (7) "Fund" means the Reserve Mobilization Income Insurance Fund set up by section 12528(a).
