With Senate approval, the President may appoint three officers as senior members of the United Nations Military Staff Committee. The appointments must include one Army officer, one Navy or Marine Corps officer, and one Air Force or Space Force officer.
With the Senate’s advice and consent, the President may appoint as senior members of the United Nations Military Staff Committee an Army* officer*, a Navy or Marine Corps officer, and an Air Force or Space Force officer.
The President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, may appoint an officer* of the Army*, an officer of the Navy or the Marine Corps, and an officer of the Air Force or the Space Force, as senior members of the Military Staff Committee of the United Nations.
