The Secretary of the Interior can accept a 10-acre piece of land next to Lassen Volcanic National Park for the United States. In exchange, the Secretary can give the landowner a different 10-acre piece of land that is currently inside the park.

This section is one undivided provision describing a specific land swap. The Secretary of the Interior may accept, on behalf of the United States, full ownership of a described 10-acre tract of land next to Lassen Volcanic National Park, so it can become part of the park. In exchange, the Secretary is authorized to give the landowner a different, specifically described 10-acre tract that currently sits inside the park. The section adds one condition: once the United States accepts title to the land it is gaining (both under this section and under a related section, 207a), that land automatically becomes part of Lassen Volcanic National Park and is governed by all the same laws and regulations as the rest of the park. Once the government issues its patent (deed) for the land it is giving up, that land is removed from the park.
