16 U.S.C. § 272 — Establishment of park

(a) In general (1) Initial boundaries — Subject to valid existing rights, the land, water, and related interests inside the boundary shown on the map "Boundary Map, Proposed Arches National Park, Utah," numbered RPSSC-138-20,001E and dated September 1969, become Arches National Park. (2) Expanded boundaries — Starting October 30, 1998, the park's boundary also includes about 3,140 more acres, known as the "Lost Spring Canyon Addition," shown on a different map, numbered 138/60,000-B and dated April 1997. (3) Maps — Both maps are kept on file and open for public inspection at the National Park Service offices, Department of the Interior. (b) Abolition of Arches National Monument; funds of monument available for park; administration of lands excluded from monument — This law abolishes the earlier Arches National Monument. Any money that had been available for the monument can now be used for the park instead. Any federal land, water, or related interests that used to be part of the monument, but are left out of the new park's boundary, are still managed by the Secretary of the Interior, following the normal laws that apply to public lands.
