It's a crime for a federal officer or employee to accept a bribe related to adjusting someone's farm debt. This covers fees, commissions, gifts, or any other benefit tied to farm-debt relief. Violators face a fine or up to one year in prison, or both.
This is one undivided rule. Anyone who is an officer or employee of, or a person acting for, the United States or one of its agencies commits a crime if they accept a fee, commission, gift, or other consideration connected to compromising, adjusting, or canceling someone's farm debt as provided by sections 1150, 1150a, and 1150b of Title 12. The punishment is a fine under this title, or imprisonment for up to one year, or both.
