33 U.S.C. § 535a — Congressional consent to State agreements with Canada and Mexico; Secretary of State’s approval of agreements

Congress gives its consent for a state, or a subdivision or instrumentality of a state, to enter into agreements: (1) with the Government of Canada, a Canadian province, or one of their subdivisions or instrumentalities, for a bridge connecting the U.S. and Canada; or (2) with the Government of Mexico, a Mexican state, or one of their subdivisions or instrumentalities, for a bridge connecting the U.S. and Mexico. These agreements are for building, operating, and maintaining that bridge under this subchapter's rules. The agreement only becomes effective once the Secretary of State approves it.
