10 U.S.C. § 1061 — Survivors of certain Reserve and Guard members

(a) The Secretary of Defense must issue regulations allowing the covered dependents in subsection (b) to use commissary and exchange stores on the same basis as dependents of members who die while on active duty for more than 30 days. (b) Covered dependents are dependents of a uniformed-service member who died (1) during active duty, active-duty training, or inactive-duty training, regardless of its length, or (2) while traveling to or from the place where the member was to perform or had performed any of those types of duty, regardless of its length.
