10 U.S.C. § 1073b — Recurring reports and publication of certain data

(a) Each year, the Secretary of Defense must issue a report on whether the military departments follow applicable laws and policies for recording health-assessment data in military health records, including section 1074f(c). The report must cover the previous calendar year and discuss how much immunization status and predeployment and postdeployment health-care data are being recorded. (b)(1) The Secretary must publish on a publicly available Defense Department website data on all measures that the Secretary considers appropriate and that are used by the Department to assess patient safety, quality of care, patient satisfaction, and health outcomes for TRICARE care at each military medical treatment facility. The data must include the Secretary’s core quality-performance metrics under section 728 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017. (2) The Secretary must update the data at least once each quarter of each fiscal year. (3) The publications may not include data about the Department’s risk-management activities. (4) The Secretary must make the data accessible through the Department’s main website and the main website of the facility to which it relates.
