During a war or national emergency, the President may suspend earlier sections of this chapter. That suspension must end by September 30 of the fiscal year after the war or emergency ends.
During a war or a national emergency, the President can suspend — meaning temporarily turn off — any provision from the earlier sections of this chapter.
That suspension can't last forever. It must end by September 30 of the fiscal year that comes right after the year the war or emergency ends.
The President, during a war or national emergency, may suspend any provision of the preceding sections of this chapter. Such a suspension may not continue beyond September 30 of the fiscal year following that in which the war or national emergency ends.
