The Secretary of Defense cannot contract with a shipyard controlled by a covered foreign-adversary nation. The definition of 'covered nation' comes from a separate law, section 4872(f).
The Secretary of Defense may not enter into any contract or other agreement with a shipyard that the Secretary determines is owned, controlled, or influenced by a "covered nation." "Covered nation" has the meaning given in section 4872(f) of this title.
The Secretary of Defense may not enter into any contract or other agreement with a shipyard determined by the Secretary of Defense to be under the ownership, control, or influence of a covered nation, as defined in section 4872(f) of this title.
