This article punishes a person subject to the chapter who, without authority, disposes of, damages, destroys, or loses United States military property. The punishment is whatever a court-martial directs.
A person subject to this chapter who, without proper authority, (1) sells or otherwise disposes of United States military property; (2) willfully or negligently damages, destroys, or loses it; or (3) willfully or negligently allows it to be lost, damaged, destroyed, sold, or wrongly disposed of, must be punished as a court-martial directs.
Any person subject to this chapter who, without proper authority—
sells or otherwise disposes of;
willfully or through neglect damages, destroys, or loses; or
willfully or through neglect suffers to be lost, damaged, destroyed, sold, or wrongfully disposed of;
any military property of the United States, shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.
