15 U.S.C. § 3209 — Reports respecting standards

This section governs reports respecting standards. It sets the duties, permissions, limits, procedures, reports, or funding rules stated in the section.
(a) Within 1 year after November 9, 1978, and annually for 10 years, each State regulatory authority*, for each gas utility* whose rates it sets, and each nonregulated gas utility* must report to the Secretary as directed about considering this chapter's standards. The report must summarize decisions and actions for each standard, utility by utility. (b) Within 18 months after that date and annually for 10 years, the Secretary must report to the President and Congress (1) a summary of those reports, (2) the Secretary's analysis, and (3) actions under this chapter and recommendations for further Federal action, including legislation, needed for retail gas rates and other practices.
Not later than 1 year after November 9, 1978, and annually thereafter for 10 years, each State regulatory authority* (with respect to each gas utility* for which it has ratemaking authority*), and each nonregulated gas utility*, shall report to the Secretary, in such manner as the Secretary shall prescribe, respecting its consideration of the standards established by this chapter. Such report shall include a summary of the determinations made and actions taken with respect to each of such standards on a utility-by-utility basis.
Not later than 18 months after November 9, 1978, and annually thereafter for 10 years, the Secretary shall submit a report to the President and the Congress containing—
a summary of the reports submitted under subsection (a),
his analysis of such reports, and
his actions under this chapter, and his recommendations for such further Federal actions, including any legislation, regarding retail gas utility rates (and other practices) as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of this chapter.
