The Committee advises the Commerce Secretary about the National Trade Data Bank. Its advice is meant to support timely, accurate data collection and efficient access for policy and export-promotion work.
The Committee* must advise the Secretary* of Commerce, as appropriate, about establishing, structuring, filling, and operating a National Trade Data Bank* under section 4906. The advice must help ensure timely collection of accurate data and efficient access by private-sector people and government officials to federal economic and trade data for policymaking and export promotion.
The Committee* shall advise the Secretary* of Commerce, as appropriate, on the establishment, structure, contents, and operation of a National Trade Data Bank* in accordance with section 4906 of this title in order to assure the timely collection of accurate data and to provide the private sector and government officials efficient access to economic and trade data collected by the Federal Government for purposes of policymaking and export promotion.
