This section defines “COVID–19 public health emergency.” The term covers the specified declaration by the Secretary of Health and Human Services and any renewal of that declaration under the cited law.
In this title, the term “COVID–19 public health emergency”— (1) means the public health emergency first declared on January 31, 2020 , by the Secretary of Health and Human Services under section 247d of title 42 for COVID–19; and (2) includes any renewal of such declaration under such section 247d of title 42 .
In this title,1 the term “COVID–19 public health emergency”—
means the public health emergency first declared on January 31, 2020, by the Secretary of Health and Human Services under section 247d of title 42 with respect to COVID–19; and
includes any renewal of such declaration pursuant to such section 247d of title 42.
