16 U.S.C. § 160d — Concession contracts with former owners of commercial, recreational, resort, or similar properties within park boundaries

This section lets the Secretary make concession contracts with former owners of certain properties inside the park. "Concession contracts" let a business operate services for park visitors, like lodging or supplies. The former owners must have owned commercial, recreational, resort, or similar properties. These properties must have been located within the park boundaries. The Secretary can let these former owners provide the same kind of services again, at the same location where their property used to be. The Secretary decides what services are "necessary for the accommodation of visitors" — in other words, what visitors need. This power applies "notwithstanding any other provision of law." That means it works even if some other law would normally get in the way. The section does not require the Secretary to do this. It only allows it, at the Secretary's discretion.
