16 U.S.C. § 410cc–25 — Administrative functions

(a) Implementation of park management plan; emergency assistance; availability of funds for Commission (1) The Secretary, through the National Park Service, must take reasonable steps to carry out the park management plan from section 410cc–21(b), following the rules that normally apply to national parks. Before the Commission's first meeting, the Secretary may also take any other action needed to give emergency help to owners of historically or culturally significant property in the park or district, to help them protect it in line with this subchapter's purpose. (2) Subject to sections 410cc–24 and 410cc–32(b), the Secretary must give the Commission any money appropriated under section 410cc–13(a)(2) for carrying out part C of this subchapter. (b) Acceptance of donations of funds, property, or services for implementation of park management plan Even if other laws say otherwise, the Secretary may accept donated money, property, or services from individuals, foundations, companies, other private groups, and public entities to help carry out the park management plan. (c) Sponsorship or coordination of educational or cultural programs The Secretary may sponsor or coordinate educational or cultural programs in the park and district that help people appreciate its resources. (d) Acquisition of leases The Secretary may get leases on park property whenever necessary to carry out this subchapter's purpose.
