16 U.S.C. § 410eee–1 — Definitions

This section sets out two definitions that apply throughout the subchapter governing Adams National Historical Park. (1) Historical park: The term "historical park" means the Adams National Historical Park, which is established by section 410eee–2 of this title. Wherever the subchapter uses the phrase "historical park," it is referring specifically to this park in Quincy, Massachusetts. (2) Secretary: The term "Secretary" means the Secretary of the Interior. Wherever the subchapter refers to "the Secretary" — for example, when describing who may acquire land, administer the park, or enter cooperative agreements — it means this federal official, not a state official or any other Cabinet secretary.
