16 U.S.C. § 410ii–7 — Authorization of appropriation

Starting on October 1, 1981, Congress is authorized to provide funding to carry out this subchapter. This is a spending ceiling, not a guarantee — Congress must still pass a separate appropriations law to actually release the money. Two limits apply. First, no more than $11,000,000 may be spent on acquiring land, water, and related interests. Second, no more than $500,000 may be spent on developing the site, such as building facilities. Together, these two caps set the outer limit on total spending for this subchapter's acquisition and development work.
