When picking commission members, the Secretary should choose people who know the battlefield well. They should also know the historical events tied to the Battle of Fort Donelson, as far as practicable.
This section tells the Secretary of the Interior how to pick people for the commission created in section 428. As much as practically possible, the Secretary should choose people who are familiar with the land of the Fort Donelson battlefield in Tennessee, and with the historical events that happened there.
In appointing the members of the commission created by section 428 of this title the Secretary of the Interior shall, as far as practicable, select persons familiar with the terrain of the battlefield of Fort Donelson, Tennessee, and the historical events associated therewith.
