16 U.S.C. § 441g — Orders to effectuate revision of boundaries; publication

This section explains the process for actually revising Badlands National Park's boundaries, using the authority given in section 441f. The Secretary of the Interior carries out the revision by issuing one or more official orders. Each order becomes effective once it is published in the Federal Register. There's one built-in limit: if the land in question is federally owned land under the administrative jurisdiction of some other federal department or agency — not the Secretary of the Interior — that land can only be added to the park with the approval of the head of that other department or agency. In other words, the Secretary of the Interior can't simply absorb another agency's land into the park without that agency's sign-off.
