16 U.S.C. § 45g — Addition to Sequoia National Park

This law adds a piece of land called Dillonwood to Sequoia National Park. The Secretary of the Interior must acquire it by donation, purchase, or exchange. Once acquired, the land moves from the national forest into the park.
(a) In general: As soon as possible after December 28, 2000, the Secretary of the Interior must get full ownership of the land described in subsection (b), to add it to Sequoia National Park in California. The Secretary can get it by donation, purchase with donated or government money, or exchange.
(b) The land: This is the "Dillonwood" tract, shown on a specific official map, numbered 102/80,044 and dated September 1999.
(c) Adding it to the park: Once the land is acquired, the Secretary of the Interior must redraw the park's boundaries to include it, and manage it as part of Sequoia National Park under all the usual park laws. The Secretary of Agriculture must redraw the Sequoia National Forest's boundaries to remove that land from the forest.
As soon as practicable after December 28, 2000, the Secretary of the Interior shall acquire by donation, purchase with donated or appropriated funds, or exchange, all interest in and to the land described in subsection (b) for addition to Sequoia National Park, California.
The land referred to in subsection (a) is the land depicted on the map entitled “Dillonwood”, numbered 102/80,044, and dated September 1999.
Upon acquisition of the land under subsection (a)—
the Secretary of the Interior shall—
modify the boundaries of Sequoia National Park to include the land within the park; and
administer the land as part of Sequoia National Park in accordance with all applicable laws; and
the Secretary of Agriculture shall modify the boundaries of the Sequoia National Forest to exclude the land from the forest boundaries.
