This section required the Secretary to report to the President within two years, recommending whether any part of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area should become protected wilderness. Any actual wilderness designation must follow the Wilderness Act's rules.
Within two years of October 27, 1972, the Secretary had to report to the President, following the Wilderness Act's rules on this kind of study. The report had to recommend whether any part of the recreation area was suitable — or not suitable — to be preserved as wilderness. If any area is later designated as wilderness, that designation must follow the Wilderness Act's own rules.
Within two years from October 27, 1972, the Secretary shall report to the President, in accordance with subsections 3(c) and 3(d) of the Wilderness Act [16 U.S.C. 1132(c) and (d)], his recommendations as to the suitability or nonsuitability of any area within the recreation area for preservation as wilderness, and any designation of any such area as wilderness shall be in accordance with said Wilderness Act [16 U.S.C. 1131 et seq.].
