16 U.S.C. § 460n–6 — Political jurisdiction; taxing power; Hualapai Indians

This law doesn't take away any state's normal legal or taxing power over land inside Lake Mead's recreation area. It also doesn't change the Hualapai Tribe's existing authority, or the status of individual tribal members, on the reservation land included here.
Nothing in this subchapter takes away a state's, or a local government's, civil and criminal legal authority over land inside the national recreation area. It also doesn't take away their right to tax people, corporations, franchises, or property located on that land.
Separately, nothing in this subchapter changes the Hualapai Tribe's existing legal authority, or the status of individual Hualapai tribal members, on the part of their reservation that's now included in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
Nothing in this subchapter shall deprive any State, or any political subdivision thereof, of its civil and criminal jurisdiction over the lands within the said national recreation area, or of its rights to tax persons, corporations, franchises, or property on the lands included in such area. Nothing in this subchapter shall modify or otherwise affect the existing jurisdiction of the Hualapai Tribe or alter the status of individual Hualapai Indians within that part of the Hualapai Indian Reservation included in said Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
