16 U.S.C. § 460y — Establishment; boundaries

The Secretary of the Interior is required to establish the King Range National Conservation Area in California, within the boundaries described in section 460y–8 of this title. Before doing so, the Secretary must first complete the steps required by sections 460y–2 and 460y–3 of this title. Once established, the Secretary must consolidate and manage the public lands in the area for the benefit of the American people. The goal is to conserve and develop the land and its resources under a program of "multiple usage" — using the land for several purposes at once — and "sustained yield" — managing resources so they can keep producing benefits over the long term.
