This section authorizes condemnation proceedings for land, easements, and rights-of-way needed for the chapter. It specifies the Federal district court where proceedings must be brought and the court’s authority over title.
The Corporation may cause proceedings to be instituted for the acquisition by condemnation of any lands, easements, or rights-of-way which, in the opinion of the Corporation, are necessary to carry out the provisions of this chapter. The proceedings must be instituted in the United States district court for the district in which the land, easement, right-of-way, or other interest, or any part of it, is located, and such court must have full jurisdiction to divest the complete title to the property sought to be acquired out of all persons or claimants and vest the same in the United States in fee simple, and to enter a decree quieting the title to it in the United States of America.
