A person may not knowingly obtain or disclose personal information from a motor-vehicle record for a use not permitted by section 2721(b). A person also may not falsely claim something to obtain such information.
(a) Procurement for unlawful purpose. It is unlawful to knowingly obtain or disclose personal information from a motor-vehicle record for a use not allowed by section 2721(b) of this title. (b) False representation. It is unlawful to make a false statement or representation to obtain personal information from an individual's motor-vehicle record.
It shall be unlawful for any person knowingly to obtain or disclose personal information, from a motor vehicle record, for any use not permitted under section 2721(b) of this title.
It shall be unlawful for any person to make false representation to obtain any personal information from an individual’s motor vehicle record.
