18 U.S.C. § 753 — Rescue to prevent execution

A person who uses force to free or rescue someone convicted of a capital crime while that person is being taken to execution or is being executed may be fined or imprisoned for up to 25 years, or both.
A person who, by force, frees or rescues someone found guilty in a United States court of a capital crime while the person is going to execution or during execution may be fined under this title, imprisoned for up to 25 years, or both.
Whoever, by force, sets at liberty or rescues any person found guilty in any court of the United States* of any capital crime, while going to execution or during execution, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty-five years, or both.
