This Act implements specified trade agreements and promotes an open world trading system. It also expands United States international-trade opportunities and improves and enforces trade rules.
The purposes are (1) to approve and implement agreements negotiated under the Trade Act of 1974; (2) to foster an open world trading system; (3) to expand United States international-commerce opportunities; and (4) to improve and enforce international-trade rules, and other purposes.
The purposes of this Act are—
to approve and implement the trade agreements negotiated under the Trade Act of 1974 [19 U.S.C. 2101 et seq.];
to foster the growth and maintenance of an open world trading system;
to expand opportunities for the commerce of the United States in international trade; and
to improve the rules of international trade and to provide for the enforcement of such rules, and for other purposes.
