2 U.S.C. § 6563 — Payment of certain expenses

With Senate Appropriations Committee approval, the Secretary of the Senate may create procedures to pay expenses from a Senate “LEGISLATIVE BRANCH” and “SENATE” appropriation account when that account’s funds are available for more than one fiscal year. The rule applies beginning with fiscal year 2012.
(a) In general. If, in a fiscal year, amounts in an appropriation account under “SENATE” under “LEGISLATIVE BRANCH” are available for more than one fiscal year, the Secretary of the Senate may, with approval of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, establish procedures to pay expenses for that account from amounts available for that fiscal year. (b) Effective date. This section applies to fiscal year 2012 and every later fiscal year.
Subject to the approval of the Committee on Appropriations of the Senate, if in any fiscal year amounts in any appropriations account under the heading “SENATE” under the heading “LEGISLATIVE BRANCH” are available for more than 1 fiscal year, the Secretary of the Senate may establish procedures for the payment of expenses with respect to that account from any amounts available for that fiscal year.
This section shall apply to fiscal year 2012 and each fiscal year thereafter.
