This subpart only applies to states that take money under this chapter. Accepting that money means agreeing to follow this subpart. States that don't take the money aren't covered.
This section limits who this subpart of the law covers.
This subpart only applies to a state* if that state receives funding under this chapter — the broader education law this subpart is part of.
Receiving that funding is not optional once accepted: this subpart applies to the state as a condition of getting the money. In other words, a state cannot take chapter funds while opting out of this subpart's rules.
This subpart shall only apply to States that receive funds under this chapter, and shall apply to such a State* as a condition of receiving such funds.
