22 U.S.C. § 262p–4k — Promotion of institution-building for nongovernmental organizations concerned with environment

The Treasury Secretary must instruct the U.S. representatives at multilateral development banks to strongly promote adopting policies that: (1) increase collaboration with — and, where needed, strengthen — nongovernmental organizations in borrowing countries that focus on environmental protection, by giving them appropriate assistance and support for their programs and activities; and (2) encourage international collaboration on information-sharing and project improvement between nongovernmental organizations in developing countries focused on the environment and government agencies and private voluntary organizations in developed countries also focused on the environment.
