22 U.S.C. § 262r–4 — Annual report and testimony on state of international financial system, IMF reform, and compliance with IMF agreements

(a) Reports By October 1 each year, the Treasury Secretary must submit a written report to the House Banking and Financial Services and Ways and Means Committees, and the Senate Finance and Foreign Relations Committees, on: (1) the progress, if any, the U.S. IMF representative made in getting the IMF to adopt policies and reform internal procedures as described in section 262o–2; and (2) the progress the IMF made adopting and implementing the policies described in section 801(c)(1)(B) of the Foreign Operations, Export Financing, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2001. (b) Testimony After submitting the report, but no later than March 1 each year, the Treasury Secretary must appear before the House Banking and Financial Services Committee and Senate Foreign Relations Committee and testify on: (1) any progress reforming the IMF; (2) the status of reforming the international financial system; (3) how well countries receiving IMF assistance are complying with the agreements they made to get it; and (4) the status of the IMF, multilateral development banks, and other multilateral financial policymaking bodies implementing international anti-money-laundering and counterterrorist-financing standards.
