The U.S. Governor of the Bank may promise $66,750,000 to the Asian Development Fund. This depends on Congress approving the money. None of it could be spent in fiscal year 1982.
(a) The U.S. Governor of the Bank may agree, on behalf of the United States, to contribute $66,750,000 to the Asian Development Fund, one of the Bank's special funds. This commitment only counts once Congress appropriates the necessary money.
(b) To pay for this contribution, the law authorizes $66,750,000 to be appropriated, with no time limit on spending it. But no money at all could be made available for this contribution for fiscal year 1982.
The United States Governor of the Bank is authorized to contribute on behalf of the United States $66,750,000 to the Asian Development Fund, a special fund of the Bank: Provided, however, That any commitment to make such contribution shall be made subject to obtaining the necessary appropriations.
In order to pay for the United States contribution to the Asian Development Fund provided for in this section, there is authorized to be appropriated, without fiscal year limitation, $66,750,000 for payment by the Secretary of the Treasury: Provided, however, That no funds may be made available for such contribution for the fiscal year 1982.
