The Secretary of State administers the Foreign Service Retirement and Disability System under Presidential regulations.
Under regulations prescribed by the President, the Secretary of State must administer the Foreign Service Retirement and Disability System, called the “System” in this part, originally established under section 18 of the Act of May 24, 1924.
In accordance with such regulations as the President may prescribe, the Secretary of State shall administer the Foreign Service Retirement and Disability System (hereinafter in this part referred to as the “System”), originally established pursuant to section 18 of the Act of May 24, 1924 (43 Stat. 144).
