A consul or vice consul who knowingly and falsely certifies foreign-owned property as United States-citizen property may receive up to three years in prison and a $10,000 fine. The section states these rules.
A consul or vice consul who knowingly and falsely certifies that property belonging to foreigners belongs to United States citizens may be imprisoned for up to three years and fined up to $10,000.
If any consul or vice consul falsely and knowingly certifies that property belonging to foreigners is property belonging to citizens of the United States, he shall be punishable by imprisonment for not more than three years, and by a fine of not more than $10,000.
