22 U.S.C. § 4869 — Counter-intelligence training for certain Diplomatic Security special agents

Certain Diplomatic Security special agents must receive substantive mandatory counter-intelligence training. Relevant intelligence-community leaders must help develop and conduct it.
(a) Agents primarily assigned to counter-intelligence or to a post rated High or Critical for Human Intelligence on the State Department’s Security Environment Threat List must receive specific, substantive, mandatory counter-intelligence training developed and conducted with relevant intelligence-community heads.
(b) “Intelligence community” has the meaning in 50 U.S.C. § 3003(4); this section does not define it.
Diplomatic Security special agents who are assigned to positions with a primary counterintelligence role or a diplomatic post rated as High or Critical for Human Intelligence on the Department of State’s Security Environment Threat List shall receive specific and substantive mandatory counter-intelligence training that is developed and conducted in consultation with the heads of relevant elements of the intelligence community.
In this section, the term “intelligence community” has the meaning given that term in 3003(4) of title 50.”.
