22 U.S.C. § 6563 — Status of AID

Unless abolished under the specified reorganization plan, and except as provided in § 6562, the United States Agency for International Development remains an Executive Branch entity described in 5 U.S.C. § 104. The section does not require certain AID officers to be reappointed.
(a) In general. Unless it is abolished under the reorganization plan submitted under section 6601 of this title, and except as section 6562 provides, the United States Agency* for International Development exists within the Executive Branch as an entity described in 5 U.S.C. § 104. (b) Retention of officers. This section does not require the reappointment of an officer serving in the Agency for International Development of the United States International Development Cooperation Agency on the day before this subchapter’s effective date.
Unless abolished pursuant to the reorganization plan submitted under section 6601 of this title, and except as provided in section 6562 of this title, there is within the Executive branch of Government the United States Agency* for International Development as an entity described in section 104 of title 5.
Nothing in this section shall require the reappointment of any officer of the United States serving in the Agency for International Development of the United States International Development Cooperation Agency as of the day before the effective date of this subchapter.
