Money for this chapter can also pay to transport a hospitalized person and needed attendants. This covers trips to a hospital, to a relative's home, or home upon discharge.
Money appropriated to carry out this chapter can also pay for transportation. This covers moving an eligible person*, and any needed attendants, to or from a hospital — including a state* or local hospital a person is released to under section 323. It also covers transportation to the home of a relative that a person is released to under section 323, or to the person's own home when they're discharged from hospitalization under this chapter.
Appropriations for carrying out this chapter shall also be available for the transportation of any eligible person* and necessary attendants to or from a hospital (including any hospital of a State* or political subdivision to which an eligible person is released under section 323 of this title), to the place where a relative to whom any person is released under section 323 of this title resides, or to a person’s home upon his discharge from hospitalization under this chapter.
