28 U.S.C. § 356 — Subpoena power

(a) Judicial Councils and Special Committees. When a judicial council, or a special committee appointed under section 353, conducts an investigation under this chapter, it has full subpoena power. That power works the same way as the subpoena power described in section 332(d).

(b) Judicial Conference and Standing Committees. When the Judicial Conference, or a standing committee the Chief Justice appointed under section 331, conducts an investigation under this chapter, it also has full subpoena power, working the same way as described in section 331 itself.
