A judge under investigation can't sit on the special committee, judicial council, Judicial Conference, or standing committee handling that investigation, until it's fully over. No one can intervene or appear as a friend of the court in these judicial-conduct proceedings.
(a) Restriction on the judge* being investigated: A judge whose conduct is under investigation under this chapter cannot serve on a special committee appointed under section 353, on a judicial council, on the Judicial Conference, or on the standing committee set up under section 331 — not until every proceeding related to that investigation has completely ended.
(b) No outside participation: No one is allowed to intervene, or to appear as amicus curiae (friend of the court), in any judicial council or Judicial Conference proceeding under this chapter.
No judge* whose conduct is the subject of an investigation under this chapter shall serve upon a special committee appointed under section 353, upon a judicial council, upon the Judicial Conference, or upon the standing committee established under section 331, until all proceedings under this chapter relating to such investigation have been finally terminated.
No person shall be granted the right to intervene or to appear as amicus curiae in any proceeding before a judicial council or the Judicial Conference under this chapter.
