28 U.S.C. § 359 — Restrictions

(a) Restriction on the judge being investigated: A judge whose conduct is under investigation under this chapter cannot serve on a special committee appointed under section 353, on a judicial council, on the Judicial Conference, or on the standing committee set up under section 331 — not until every proceeding related to that investigation has completely ended. (b) No outside participation: No one is allowed to intervene, or to appear as amicus curiae (friend of the court), in any judicial council or Judicial Conference proceeding under this chapter.
