This law lets the FBI's counterintelligence budget pay to host foreign officials visiting the United States. The visits must relate to counterintelligence consultations. The FBI's Director controls this spending.
This section lets the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation spend money from the FBI's counterintelligence program funds for a specific purpose: paying the expenses of hosting foreign officials who visit the United States.
This only covers hosting done under the FBI's auspices, and only for consultations on counterintelligence matters. The section does not authorize spending counterintelligence funds on unrelated hospitality or on visits that aren't about counterintelligence consultation.
The Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation may use funds available to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for counterintelligence programs to pay the expenses of hosting foreign officials in the United States under the auspices of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for consultation on counterintelligence matters.
