The Director must provide United States magistrate judges with adequate docket books, prescribed forms, and the current United States Code. The Director must also provide official seals, and the supplied property remains United States property and must be transferred or handled as ordered.
(a) The Director must give United States magistrate judges adequate docket books and forms prescribed by the Director. The Director must also give each judge a copy of the current United States Code.
(b) Everything supplied to such a judge remains United States property. When the judge’s term ends, the property must be sent to the successor or handled another way as the Director orders.
(c) The Director must give each United States magistrate judge appointed under this chapter an official impression seal in the form prescribed by the conference. Each judge must place the seal on every jurat or certificate of the judge’s official acts, without charging a fee.
The Director shall furnish to United States magistrate judges adequate docket books and forms prescribed by the Director. The Director shall also furnish to each such officer a copy of the current edition of the United States Code.
All property furnished to any such officer shall remain the property of the United States and, upon the termination of his term of office, shall be transmitted to his successor in office or otherwise disposed of as the Director orders.
The Director shall furnish to each United States magistrate judge appointed under this chapter an official impression seal in a form prescribed by the conference. Each such officer shall affix his seal to every jurat or certificate of his official acts without fee.
