29 U.S.C. § 663 — Representation in civil litigation

This section allows the Solicitor of Labor to represent the Secretary in civil litigation under the chapter, with one Supreme Court exception. The Attorney General controls that litigation.
Except for litigation before the Supreme Court covered by section 518(a) of title 28, the Solicitor of Labor may appear for and represent the Secretary* in civil litigation under this chapter. The Attorney General directs and controls all such litigation.
Except as provided in section 518(a) of title 28 relating to litigation before the Supreme Court, the Solicitor of Labor may appear for and represent the Secretary* in any civil litigation brought under this chapter but all such litigations shall be subject to the direction and control of the Attorney General.
