33 U.S.C. § 2268 — Marine technology review

(a) Dredging needs The Secretary may conduct the studies needed to give Congress a report about the dredging needs of the United States' national ports and harbors. The report must include existing and projected future project depths, the types and sizes of ships in use, and world trade patterns. It must also include an assessment of future national waterside infrastructure needs and a comparison of drafts of United States ports and selected ports around the world. This section does not define the terms “project depths,” “waterside infrastructure,” or “drafts.” (b) Authorization of appropriations Congress may provide $2,500,000 to carry out this section for fiscal years beginning after September 30, 1992. This money remains available until it is spent.
