36 U.S.C. § 151503 — Purposes

(a) Specific Purposes.—The corporation’s purposes are stated in its articles of incorporation and include: (1) bringing music clubs, other musical organizations, and people involved in musical activities into working relationships to develop and maintain high musical standards; (2) helping and encouraging music education; and (3) promoting American music and American artists throughout the United States and the world. (b) Patriotic, Civic, and Historical Organization.—The corporation must operate as a patriotic, civic, and historical organization as authorized by the laws of each State where it is incorporated.
